Young Rembrandts Part-Time Elementary After School Children's Drawing Instructor

Young Rembrandts Greater Cleveland West offers art classes for kids. Our elementary and cartoon drawing classes complement and expand existing art programs in local schools.

Young Rembrandts provides all materials, top-quality instructors and curriculum for weekly drawing classes. Our classes are built to be fun, and children who participate in Young Rembrandts local art classes increase overall academic skills, fine motor skills, social skills and confidence. 

WE ARE EXPANDING! 

Hiring teachers for after-school drawing classes in Strongsville and surrounding areas!!

IDEAL CANDIDATE is compassionate, creative, loves art, has a passion for teaching and loves kids!  

MATURE, SOLID experience (2-3 years) working with groups of children 6y-12y.

Teachers will: 

  • Be trained in using the Young Rembrandts’ method 
  • Use Young Rembrandts’ extensive curriculum 
  • Work part-time after school hours at local schools  

Children's drawing lessons are currently available after school in the following Cleveland Western Suburbs:

Avon, Bay Village, Berea, Brunswick, Lakewood, Medina, Nordonia Hills, Northfield, North Ridgeville, Olmsted Falls, Parma, Rocky River, Sagamore Hills, Westlake, Strongsville and more!

Part-Time!! Afternoon work. Weekdays, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Classes run in the elementary schools right after school dismisses.

Classes run from September to May (possible summer camp opportunities)

If you are looking for more than 4-6 hours a week, this job is NOT for you.

Salary: $34.00 per class (1 hour class, plus minimal set-up and clean-up)

Role Details:

  • Engage with students in after-school programs at local elementary schools.
  • Follow the Young Rembrandts curriculum and methodology.
  • Teach 60-minute drawing sessions to 6-12-year-olds.
  • Create engaging in-school displays showcasing students' artwork weekly.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage classroom behavior.
  • Participation in weekly phone calls and photo reviews with franchisee.
  • Attend monthly staff training meetings during evening hours after class.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older.
  • Experience working with children (teaching, coaching, volunteer work, etc.).
  • Prefer applicants holding or working towards a college degree with 1-2 years experience working with children.
  • Must value teamwork and be able to collaborate with other instructors/staff.
  • Ability to teach, manage and inspire a group of up to 20 young artists.
  • Must be available at least two days per week during after-school hours (2p-5p)
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. CUSTOMER SERVICE!
  • Must be able to be responsible for packing, handling, lifting, and loading into a vehicle a supply cart (on wheels) with a weight capacity of approximately 40 lbs. for each class.
  • Must be able to stand and walk around a classroom for at least 90 minutes.
  • Understanding of technology such as Dropbox, Google Docs, apps and email.
  • Access to a printer for printing student rosters.
  • Must have a working mobile phone for scheduling, messaging, and photo submissions.

Schedule:

  • After school (2pm-5pm)
  • Day shift (2pm-5pm)
  • Monday to Friday

MAXIMUM COMMUTE:  NOT MORE THAN 30 MILES FROM SCHOOL LOCATION!!

MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT: over 10 miles back and forth from schools location
