Position Summary:

Equal Justice Works has opened its application process for two-year Design-Your-Own fellowships that begin in September of 2025. Public Knowledge encourages rising third-year law students to submit an application for an EJW fellowship with Public Knowledge as a host.

To meet EJW's deadline, we must have your application by Monday, August 19. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. We will choose our applicant by Monday, September 2. As explained below, the Applicant and Public Knowledge will then work together to submit a final proposal to EJW by Tuesday, September 10.

EJW requires applicants to design a new project that focuses on advocacy on behalf of disenfranchised individuals, groups, or issues not adequately represented in our legal system. We encourage candidates to pitch a project related to Artificial Intelligence, Broadband Access, or another topic relevant to PK’s work, or to demonstrate an interest in these topics and work with PK to formulate a proposal. Once we have chosen our EJW candidate, we will jointly work with the candidate to develop the candidate’s project into a joint proposal to be submitted to EJW by the September 10th deadline.

If you are interested in applying with a Public Knowledge project, please fill out and submit this form to Public Knowledge by Monday, August 19. If you are selected, Public Knowledge will work with you to support your application to EJW, and a new job description will be created.

Please don’t hesitate to contact meredith@publicknowledge.org with any questions or concerns.
