Part-Time, 8:30 AM-1:15 PM Monday-Friday, East Bank or West Bank Campus
Position Overview: A JCFA tutor must have strong communication and classroom management skills, work well with non-traditional students, and have a passion for supporting all students through earning a high school diploma. JCFA’s blended learning environment provides flexibility and accountability to students to foster taking responsibility for their academic achievements.
Key Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)
- Support the management of a blended learning environment using a web-based curriculum that is self-paced, student focused, and provides individualized instruction and support
- Proactively manage students’ behavior according to the school-wide culture, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment where all students can learn
- Deliver remediation to prepare students for high-stakes testing
- Meet bi-weekly with the course instructor, and monthly with the faculty and Coordinator of Curriculum, and/or Chief Academic Officer to review progress
- Create guided notes for students and additional resources as required by the student
- Serve as a substitute teacher as needed
- Act as a test proctor for high stakes testing as needed
- Maintain behavior expectations for students by upholding JCFA’s policies during duty and throughout the course of the work day
- Other duties and tasks assigned by the classroom instructor or JCFA administration
- Provide intensive small-group and one-on-one tutoring for students performing below grade level in the classroom
- Implement the individualized remediation plan for each student based on TABE assessment results, and/or previous high stakes test results.
Desired Qualifications
Strong candidates for this position should:
- Have completed a minimum of 18 hours of college level coursework in the content area they wish to work
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Share a willingness to work in a non-traditional environment with at-risk students, dedicated to achieving a high school diploma
- Possess a true passion for working with young adults, and demonstrate a belief that all students deserve a supportive environment in which to succeed academically

This position is a part time position, Monday–Friday from 8:30 to 1:15PM, Full-Time is 8:30-2:30. JCFA offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. JCFA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
