Hourly Range: $28.58 - $38.57

Who We Are:
Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) is the provider of mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorder services for children and adults in Chesterfield County. Our Child & Adolescent Services Team (CAST) is a fun-loving and energetic team that highly values continuing professional growth, self-care, and a supportive work environment. We are currently seeking a part-time Outpatient Clinician to join the CAST team!
 
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's degree in a Human Services field; one year of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and developing behavior plans; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. License eligibility preferred. Specialized training or experience with specific clinical populations or treatment interventions such as autism spectrum disorders or trauma-informed care preferred. Related experience in working with children, adolescents, and families preferred.
 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of normal and abnormal human behavior, personality development, family and group dynamics; considerable knowledge of and an ability to apply a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment techniques; adherence to basic ethics appropriate for a professional helping relationship; knowledge of mental health diagnoses, assessment, and/or psychological and educational testing; some knowledge of consultation program; considerable knowledge of psychosocial history development; very good interviewing and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; demonstrated ability to act with good judgment.

Preferred: Working knowledge of Medicaid-funded MH Case Management (TCM) services and/or providing mental health services in a clinical setting. Verbal and written fluency in both Spanish and English.
 
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Duties:
The successful incumbent will participate as part of a clinical team to provide mental health counseling and case management services to youth (ages 4-18) and their families.

Other duties include but are not limited to:
 • Providing clinical assessment and evaluation of individuals’ strengths and needs;
 • Providing psychotherapy (individual, family, and group);
 • Treatment planning;
 • Resource linking;
 • Client advocacy;
 • Case staffing;
 • Clinical diagnosis;
 • Electronic medical record documentation; and
 • Performing other related duties as required.
