Job Description:

Correctional Health Services (CHS) is seeking a Post Release Services Data Manager for CHS’ department of Reentry and Transition Services (RATS). This department works to connect people released from NYC jails to community-based medical care and supportive services, with a variety of programs available during incarceration and once released into the community.

The Post Release Services Data Manager will work full-time 9:00 am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, out of CHS’ 55 Water Street office in lower Manhattan. The Manager will lead internal data analysis and evaluation efforts, and support post-release connection to services for former CHS patients.

The position requires excellent data analysis skills, awareness of criminal legal policy, and the ability to communicate pertinent information succinctly to internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have research writing skills in and/or related to public health, social services, and with populations most impacted by incarceration. The position responds to ad hoc requests for data and information as well as advises future policy development and evaluation efforts.

  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong technical writing experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of benefit entitlements, community-based resources for the previously incarcerated population
  • Ability to work independently; dependable and able to work under pressure

Detailed Tasks:

  • Maintain records and datasets, write reports and prepare and conduct presentations.
  • Support contracted vendor reporting efforts and performance evaluation.
  • Participate in select meetings; prepare agendas, minutes and ensure follow up of action items.
  • Assist with and contribute to the documentation and design of service workflows and policies.
  • Support Post Release Services teams in various efforts to ensure patient connection to care in community.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor, the Director, and Deputy Director, of Reentry and Transition Services.

 

Qualification Requirements: 

  1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering or Social Sciences, Health Care Specialization, Physical Sciences or related programs; and 
    A minimum of four years of progressive, responsible experience related to Health   Care Program Planning, Research, Design, Operation, Evaluation and Analysis; or 
  2. A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration, Health Care Specialization, Business Administration or related disciplines; and 
    A minimum of three years progressive, responsible experience directly related to health care program planning, research, design, operation, evaluation and analysis; or 
  3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience; and, 
  4. Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
