Duties

As a Human Resources Assistant at the GS-0203-6, you will be part of HRS Federal Staffing Center, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of technical and administrative duties related to staffing, onboarding, financial, and related tasks. You will also be responsible for providing direct assistance to higher graded specialists in the accomplishment of their work.

Typical duties include:

  • Prepare simple vacancy announcements in the USA Staffing talent acquisition system for positions within a limited scope.
  • Complete qualifications review for low level clerical or technician positions.
  • Respond to applicant inquiries by phone or email.
  • Assist with onboarding customer agency selectees by entering pertinent data into Onboarding Manager.
  • Track office supply levels and coordinate the ordering of supplies with the designated purchase card holder.

Qualifications

 

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.

Specialized Experience:
GS-06: You qualify for the GS-06 grade level if you possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing ALL of the following duties:

  1. Assisting in carrying out a wide range of tasks related to staffing and employee on-boarding; AND
  2. Researching Human Resources related information to answer routine inquiries; AND
  3. Maintaining data in a variety of automated Human Resources databases; AND
  4. Using automated systems to access, search, and prepare routine reports.

Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS6 level.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
