Job Title: LOAN ASSISTANT/SPECIALIST (REALTY)

Salary: $49,025 - $84,848 per year

Government Pay Scale Grade: GS-7 (Assistant) Full Promotion Potential to GS 9 (Specialist)

Locations:   1 vacancy in North Platte, NE

Telework Eligible: Yes - as determined by the agency policy. (***Not a Remote Position)

Work Schedule: Full-time

Summary:

USDA Rural Development is a Federal Agency with good pay and GREAT benefits! This is a developmental position (GS-07) with duties designed to provide training and development to prepare the incumbent for advancement to a Loan Specialist (GS-09) position.    Additional advancement opportunities exist and for many, once a part of the RD team, you may never leave. We are real people, working with real people in Nebraska!  This position is with our Single-Family Housing Team.  We make zero downpayment required home loans and home repair loans and grants to residents in rural Nebraska communities.  If you have a positive attitude, like working with people, enjoy fast paced work, and would enjoy some intrinsic value in your job, this may be what you are looking for and we will provide training for the right candidate. The position may also be eligible for hiring incentives and/or reimbursement of relocation expenses or college loan repayment, in accordance with agency policy. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assists in analyzing financial and credit data documents to make eligibility, feasibility, and credit-worthiness determinations on program applications.
  • Assists reviewing file for completeness and compliance with all prescribed regulations and practices before loan closing.
  • Meets with other partners and potential borrowers to explain Rural Development programs and requirements.
  • Prepare conditional commitments, funding commitments and notifications of loan closing, and certificates of eligibility.
