Salary: $28.10 - $32.75 per hour

Performs sub-journeyman level maintenance, repair, and construction of park trails.

• Performs masonry work, primarily dry stone, in the construction, stabilization, and maintenance to historic and non-historic structures, mostly on the Park trail system.
• Performs carpentry work, primarily using heavy log and rough-sawn lumber, on trail structures such as log checks, foot-bridges, multi-use bridges, corrals, hitch rails, and boardwalks.
• Transports tools, materials, employees, livestock, vehicles or equipment to job sites and trailheads.
• Monitors trails for trail erosion control and analyzes drainage patterns as they relate to trail use and erosion.
• May be called upon to serve as crew leader as needed.

This 1,754-acre city park was officially authorized in 1890, making it the third national park to be designated by the federal government. Some of the 99 park sites include Civil War fortifications, a working grist mill, colonial houses, and multiple triangles, circles, and squares (some with statues and some without).
