Job Summary

Supports the design, review, implementation, and administration of compensation programs. Collects, analyzes, and maintains compensation data to ensure the organization can attract and retain talent.

 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Reviews market pay practices and compares against internal practices to gauge market competitiveness. Provides pay recommendations for internal associates and external candidates.
  • Completes salary and other ad hoc surveys, loads and maintains survey data in compensation software, and reviews and recommends surveys to support market pricing initiatives.
  • Participates in the annual salary structure review process. Ensures salary structures remain competitive and aligned to market.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to evaluate and market price new and revised jobs, creates and edits job descriptions, and sets up job-related data in applicable systems.
  • Consults with business partners on basic to moderately complex compensation issues using knowledge of compensation, human resources, and internal policies.
  • Tracks and reports on various pay programs, including merit, bonus, and severance. Ensures payments are accurate and timely.
  • Assists in the administration of annual pay programs, including project managing year-end merit and variable pay processes.
  • Maintains knowledge of internal compensation policies, procedures, and laws to ensure compensation programs are compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Assists with special projects.

 

Nature and Scope

 

  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

 

Work Environment

 

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

 

 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related area.

3+ years of compensation experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Experience with Workday and CompAnalyst.
