CES Operations and Customer Support Intern (Long-term: ~June 2024 - ~May 2025)

(Full-time/Long-term: ~June/July 2024 - ~May 2025)

Hours Per Week: ~35 hours/week (9am – 5pm).  

Approximate Duration:   June 2024 with flexibility - Early/Mid 2025 (Please note:  This is not a “summer” internship program.   If you are currently a student only looking for a summer internship, our CTA intern program may not be the best fit for you.)  

Hybrid work schedule: Work 2-3 days in the office (Tues, Weds. and/or Thursday) and the rest remote.  Core in-office days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

Basic function of the position:

To assist the CES operations team with registration services for CES 2024. Including site creation and testing, customer service, list management, reporting and temporary staff management and training.

Critical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review registration website and submit all requested changes to vendor and test site for updates.
  • Field registration related customer service calls/emails.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal questions regarding CES registration database functionality. Create simple how-to guides for internal staff use.
  • Maintain website content for registration and show planning pages.
  • Assist with temporary staffing scheduling.
  • Assist in training internal teams on registration related systems and processes.
  • Assist with show shipment to Las Vegas.
  • Perform other duties as required by business needs.

Work Experience:

  • Prior work in customer service, hotel, trade show and/or conference planning preferred.
  • Previous experience in Microsoft suite, including Outlook preferred.

Education and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Event Management or Marketing or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task.

  • PAID Internship.
  • May require travel to CES 2025 in Las Vegas (Early January).

Consumer Technology Association (CTA) ™ prides itself on offering interns both a well- rounded and educational internship as well as industry leading perks! This flyer highlights the incentives provided to CTA interns.

Flexible Work Arrangements:

Regular work hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, including up to an hour lunch break. CTA currently follows a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days spent in the office (Tuesday -Thursday) and the rest of the work week is remote. However, due to busy student schedules, additional flexibility is available with approval from your direct supervisor.

 

Casual Dress Attire:

While in the office CTA follows a business casual dress schedule. However, should you attend any event as a representative of CTA, internal or external, business attire is required.

 

Parking:

Parking is available in the garage directly under our building and is provided FREE of charge for 2024.

 

On-Site Exercise Facility:

Access to our on-site exercise facility is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, free of charge.

Interns are not paid for Federal Holidays.  The following holidays are recognized each year:

Professional Development:

CTA Interns will have the opportunity to participate in Lunch and Learns throughout their internship. These will be professional training and development presentations led by various CTA staff members.

Travel to Las Vegas:

Many interns have the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas for a week in January to work at CES, the world’s largest consumer tech tradeshow.

As an added benefit CTA offers full-time interns the opportunity to enroll in a medical insurance plan that meets essential coverage and affordability requirements. This plan is offered for the intern and any dependent children.
