Concentrating Solar Technologies Intern

The Concentrating Solar Technologies (CST) Department at Sandia National Labs, located in Albuquerque, NM, conducts research, development, and testing of technologies to produce solar electricity and solar process heat. We work at the National Solar Thermal Test Facility (NSTTF), a world-class CST research and development (R&D) facility and the only of its kind in the United States.

The NSTTF hires in-person and hybrid undergraduate and graduate student interns who are passionate about renewable energy, research, and subject areas including thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, controls, and materials science. We hire students from a range of disciplines including ME, Materials Science, ChemE, CS, and ECE. Student interns will have the opportunity to employ creative problems solving to design systems and experiments and can gain hands-on experience with the NSTTF’s unique CST infrastructure.
