Summer Residential Life Counselors (Housing/Travel included)

Summer Discovery is looking for Residential Life Counselors to help operate the residential life component of our programs for middle and high school students at one of our many college campus locations.

Our Resident Counselors (RC's) provide students with academic, social, and emotional support, supervision at activities, insights into college success, and more.

Our program's success depends on communicating to our students that they are welcomed and valued. We are seeking trustworthy, fun-loving individuals who encourage the values of exploration and inclusivity and are passionate about the pre-college experience.

About the Position:

Live on campus and supervise a talented group of high school students living and studying at major universities this summer. Some responsibilities include:

• Assist students in solving academic and socio-emotional problems related to the program, including, supervision of activities, tutoring, insights into college success, homesickness, and social interactions
• Facilitate on and off-campus activities and oversee student's safety
• Execute residential life operations and create a harmonious residential experience
• Eat meals with students and participate in their social interactions as a mentor
• Seek guidance and assistance from leadership admin team regarding student related concerns (academic, recreational, emotional) and follows through on communication as needed

RCs are required to reside on campus throughout the entirety of the program. This position requires a commitment to our dynamic workday, which requires flexibility and the ability to adjust schedules as needed. Summer Discovery requires varied work hours, as we are a residential community. You must be at least 20 years old to work with Summer Discovery.
