Summer Camp Staff

Kennolyn is looking for summer staff!

We work and play hard. If you have an outstanding work ethic, love working with children, desire to make a difference in the lives of everyone at camp (including yourself) then you may be what we are looking for. (Eligible to work in the US, have completed one year of College by June 2024, over the age of 18 by June 2024)

At Kennolyn a counselor or staff member is a well-rounded individual who can deal with anything they are given that day. We train our staff to become lifeguards and archery instructors etc. but what we look for everyday is that person who really knows how to connect with others.

You may or may not come in with a lot of previous experience in the camp realm, but if you are a caring and compassionate person who is unafraid to be a positive role model for our campers then we'd definitely like to hear from you.

Examples of job duties include:

  • Keep track of campers dietary, medical, social and physical needs.
  • Coordinate your cabin’s daily schedule of activities and manage transitions to ensure timely arrival of your entire group.
  • Facilitate group activities for your campers during transition periods and Family Hour.
  • Mediate any conflicts that may arise between campers.
  • Facilitate chores to maintain the cleanliness of your cabin’s facilities.
  • Report any notable concerns or incidents to leadership staff.
  • Create weekly reports to send home to campers' parents including emails, certificates etc.
  • Instruct activities daily that are fun, engaging and safe.
  • Take campers on weekly overnight camping trips in our beautiful redwood forests.
  • HAVE FUN!
  • Other duties as assigned.

In addition to weekly salary food and housing and provided to residential staff at no cost.
