McAllister & Quinn has a specialty in grants consulting and lobbying. Our clients include higher education institutions, research universities and institutions, healthcare systems, advanced technology corporations, and non-profits.
Operations Intern
The role is focused on the daily office and general operational support of McAllister & Quinn. This role assists with operations and office administration to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies. Competitive candidates must be detail oriented, capable of handling a high volume of logistic coordination, strong ability to anticipate needs of others, and communicate with our 90+ hybrid in-office/remote staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all required administrative, logistical, clerical, and facilities maintenance tasks.
- Oversee facilities management, including space planning, business insurance, vendor contracts and relations, security and emergency response planning, and facilitation of all office functions and services.
- Maintain orderly office environment in compliance with HR policies and company culture.
- Oversee all firm-sponsored events, providing logistical support and organizational input.
- Ensure general management of the office, overseeing operational efficiency, effective communications across all employees, and assisting with operational strategy and implementation.
- Support cross-practice activities and initiatives.

The McAllister & Quinn Internship Experience:
Consulting and Office Culture
Interns will experience how a consulting firm operates with an emphasis on client service interaction and the overall culture of an over 90-person consulting firm operating in a hybrid remote/in-person environment. Interns will assist in building internal team resources and infrastructure to support multiple client service models. Interns will receive guidance, knowledge, and direct feedback on the importance of communication skills, virtual communication etiquette, professionalism, networking, and other keys to success in an office environment.
Professional Development and Intern Mentors
Interns will participate in several McAllister & Quinn sponsored events involving experienced speakers focused on public policy, career development, technological advancement, and other relevant topics. In addition, each intern will be assigned an individual McAllister & Quinn mentor who will serve as a resource and sounding board for career advice, resume development, networking and other areas. Furthermore, meetings arranged with experienced professionals and visits to Capitol Hill will add insight to future career paths and make valuable connections.
Program Specifics
- In-person office presence is required for the duration of the internship.
- McAllister & Quinn offers hourly paid internship program, to part-time candidates (24 hours per week) or full-time candidates (40 hours per week).
- Strong written and verbal English skills are required for internal communications on virtual platforms, prior experience in an office setting is a plus.
- If applicable, students are required to find their own housing for the duration of their internship.
- Expected internship duration: October 2nd 2023 – December 22nd 2023.
