Engineering Internship - HAMR Product Team

 

The ARS Product Development team is responsible for Product Integration of all head/media recording (electrical & mechanical) technology. We start from Advanced Product Development and carry all engineering activities through Masspro in drive factories. We work in the core team environment, and collaboratively with head and media design & manufacturing teams. We are a global team, with daily interaction across facilities in Asia, the US and Europe.

 

About the role - you will:

 

  • Work on engineering projects to increase HDD reliability
  • Closely work with Engineering/FA team to define testing/FA needs for a deeper understanding of fail mode
  • Participate in new test development and align testing to meet product needs. 

 

About you:

  • Ph.D. candidates strongly preferred
  • M.S. in Physics, Optics, or Electrical Engineering
  • Enjoy problem-solving & working well in a team-based environment 
  • Self-motivated and proactive, a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset

 

Your experience includes:

 

  • Python or MATLAB working knowledge strongly preferred
  • Experience in data-analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Data Analysis / Statistical treatment methods
