This position is a full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid internship that will begin on June 3, 2024 and conclude on August 2, 2024.

Job Summary and Scope:
As a Credit Intern, you will support Veritiv’s print solutions, facility solutions, and/or packaging customer base. You will learn about and support various teams on creation of new customers, maintenance of new customers, as well as in depth analysis of risk for each customer and the extension of a line of credit or increase/decrease to existing lines of credit. The opportunity will give you exposure to all aspects of customer management and risk mitigation for various customer types in a multitude of industries.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be working closely with risk underwriters and the credit risk manager along with the reporting team on a variety of daily tasks and projects which could include:
- Review risk factors on new and existing customers.
- Analyze information about public and private companies to determine level of risk and acceptable credit extension levels.
- Research the active status of customers, review legal name and address, confirm tax exemption status, as well as understand their corporate structure.
- Support the preparation of Bad Debt Reserve and Borrowing Base Capacity filings as well as other reports related to the credit department.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities and participate in other initiatives as assigned.
- Contact other departments and/or external customers to gather information via phone and email.
Qualifications/Knowledge & Experience:
- A rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field from an accredited four-year college or university. Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize workload
- Advanced problem solving and conflict management skills
- Experience with analyzing large amounts of data is a plus
- Microsoft Office proficiency with intermediate Excel skills required
- Must have good written, listening, and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must be highly motivated, flexible, and deadline driven
