Description
TPWD MISSION
To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Galveston Bay Ecosystem Team Leader, this position performs complex (journey-level) administrative support work including providing administrative support for the Galveston Bay Ecosystem Team and the Sabine Lake Ecosystem Team. Creates and prepares documents and correspondence; copies, faxes and maintains files and reports; and assists with managing databases. Ensures telephones are answered appropriately and messages are communicated promptly and accurately. Performs, routes and tracks purchasing actions; and maintains vehicle logs, travel vouchers, and general facility operations. Responsible for budget information, reserving meeting rooms, coordinating conference calls and arranging travel amenities as required. Supports education efforts by assisting with educational activities as appropriate. Supports Management branch as needed. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from high school or GED.
Experience:
Two years experienced performing administrative support duties.
Licensure:
Must possess or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment, a valid class “C” Texas driver’s license.
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.
Must take Texas Procurement and Support Services (TPASS) Basic Public Purchasing training within 30 days of employment.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS
Experience:
Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university in Business Administration related coursework may substitute for one year of the required experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:
Experience working with purchasing for a state governmental agency.
Licensure:
Texas Procurement and Support Services (TPASS), Basic Public Purchasing training and/or certification.
