Machine Learning and AI Specialist
Specific Duties
- Serves on the Emerging and Disruptive Technology Division’s team covering the development and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to foreign military problem sets
- Evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of AI and machine learning techniques based on an understanding of the underlying mathematical and computer science principles
- Responsible for following research and development trends in AI or counter-AI efforts
- Utilizes all-source analysis principles and methodologies to produce integrated products on militarily-relevant foreign AI strategies and applications
- Communicates technical analyses in written and oral forms to both technical and non-technical audience
Specialized Experience &Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
- Specialized experience is defined as experience with computer science principles and artificial intelligence, including an understanding of, algorithms, computing at different scales, machine learning, or large language models.

Qualifications for the GG-07/09 grade level: To qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GG-05/07).
