Product Specialist
The Product Specialist Program has been designed to offer qualified and career minded applicants an accelerated path into management in the retail automotive industry. This is not a job, this is a long-term career opportunity.
The primary function of a Product Specialist is to give all potential customers an exceptional and pleasurable shopping experience. This will be accomplished by understanding that this is NOT a conventional sales position. The role of a Product Specialist is one of effectively demonstrating the features and benefits of our product lines and being able to answer customer questions or concerns. Product Specialists are compensated by salary, not sales commission
INDIVIDUAL STANDARDS The Product Specialist Must: ❖ Be a College Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree (may be eligible in last two semesters) ❖ Possess the character and appearance standards of your specific dealership ❖ Maintain a positive, wholesome attitude towards life and the sales profession ❖ Engage in some kind of self-improvement program regularly ❖ Get along well with other employees of the dealership WORK ORGANIZATION STANDARDS The Product Specialist Must: ❖ Know how to set objectives or quotas and how to figure a method or program of action to reach those goals ❖ Come to work each day with a plan of work for the day ❖ Have a positive owner-follow-up system ❖ Ability to be openly communicate with management KNOWLEDGE STANDARDS The Product Specialist Must: Learn why people buy and how to meet the needs of various types of customers ❖ Know the company sales and credit policies ❖ Have a thorough product knowledge of your own products and a general knowledge of competitive products ❖ Follow a sales plan with every customer
