Habitat AmeriCorps Construction Crew Leader/Volunteer Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The construction crew/volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
- Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday to support work on the build site.
- Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
- Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
- Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days – signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
- Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.
This position will focus on home construction, home repair and volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations. In addition, this position will be responsible for helping the Construction Crew Manager with projects, and coordinating and overseeing volunteers for the project.

- Activities and attractions: We have a river in the town you can kayak and boat on, ice skating rink and swimming pool. A walking/biking trail in town. Cook Forest state park about an hour away for camping, hiking, riding bikes and tubing. Crooked Creek Park within 1/2 hour for lake recreation. Pittsburgh is an hour away with as many activities you want to do.
- Unique projects: We are currently working with the YMCA to build an adventure playground that is handicapped accessible. This fall we will be building a new home for a habitat family and finishing up a rehab home. We have 2 Rock the Blocks a year which helps low-income families with minor home repairs, such as porch painting and repairs, landscaping. We have a A Brush with Kindness program that helps lower income families with major critical home repairs such as roof replacement or water heater replaced.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
Pursuant to current Habitat for Humanity policy, this position requires full vaccination against COVID-19, except to the extent such requirement is prohibited by applicable law.
