Job Description
MITRE leverages deep technical knowledge to perform defensive cyber operations, enable offensive objectives, and conduct adversary emulation. We develop technologies, practices, and approaches to protect critical infrastructure from malicious cyber or non-kinetic attack or disruption. We help our customers architect, assess, and acquire safe, secure, and resilient cyber systems that meet their operational needs
As an Intern working in cyber or information security, you will work with a team to apply your knowledge and gain experience with one or more of the following:
- Adversary emulation
- Deception and adversary engagement
- Cyber effects and reverse engineering
- Cyber forensics
- Cyber threat intelligence
- Operational technology engineering and response
- Internet of Things and mobile device security
- Engineering and architecting safe, secure, and resilient systems
- Cyber policy
Required Qualifications
- Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Cyber or Information Security or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
- Knowledge of cyber security principles, tools and devices, such as WireShark, ELK, and Splunk.
- Knowledge of cyber security systems and products
- Knowledge of cyber security operations
- Sustained excellence in academic performance
- High level desire to help their nation solve its most critical challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with design recovery, software analysis, and/or reverse engineering tools
- Experience using cyber security systems and products
- Experience in cyber security operations
- Experience developing cyber policy
- Proficiency in one or more of the following--Java, Python, XML, HTML, C#, Objective C; database design & development including SQL.

$42,000 - $52,500 - $63,000 Annual
