Personal Trainer

Are you passionate about fitness and dedicated to helping others achieve their health goals? South Shore YMCA is seeking a confident and self-motivated Personal Trainer to join our dynamic team. As a Personal Trainer, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and community-oriented environment, helping individuals of all ages and fitness levels improve their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one training sessions with clients, focusing on their specific fitness goals.
  • Design personalized exercise programs tailored to individual needs, taking into consideration their fitness level, health conditions, and preferences.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients, demonstrating proper exercise techniques and ensuring safety during workouts.
  • Motivate and inspire clients to stay committed to their fitness journey, offering continuous encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Track client progress, regularly assessing their performance and adjusting training programs accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workout environment, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and sanitized.
  • Take pride in the workplace, upholding a professional and positive demeanor while representing South Shore YMCA.

Additional Possibilities:

In addition to one-on-one training, there are also opportunities for Personal Trainers to lead group exercise classes and small group training sessions. These group settings allow you to inspire and motivate a larger audience, creating a sense of camaraderie and support among participants. If you have experience and interest in group fitness instruction, this is an excellent chance to showcase your expertise and contribute to the diverse fitness offerings at South Shore YMCA.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer with a recognized certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM, ISSA).
  • Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy, and fitness principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and provide clear instructions.
  • Confidence and self-motivation to take initiative and adapt to clients' needs.
  • Ability to create challenging and effective workout routines for individuals with varying fitness levels and goals.
  • Prior experience working as a Personal Trainer is preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a genuine passion for fitness and a desire to make a positive impact on clients' lives.
