Geriatric Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Geriatric Fitness Trainer to join the RAMP Team and make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our aging population. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the unique physical needs and considerations of geriatric individuals, coupled with a passion for enhancing their quality of life through personalized fitness programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored fitness programs designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional capacity for geriatric clients.
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand individual limitations, medical history, and specific goals, ensuring safety and efficacy of training protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate medical insights into fitness plans, adapting routines based on evolving health conditions.
- Provide guidance and support to clients, fostering a positive and motivating environment that encourages adherence and progress.
- Monitor progress through regular assessments, adapting programs as needed to ensure continued improvements and address changing needs.
- Stay current with advancements in geriatric fitness, integrating new techniques and best practices into training strategies.
Qualifications:
- Certification in personal training, exercise physiology, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with geriatric populations, understanding their physical limitations and tailoring fitness programs accordingly.
- Strong communication skills to establish rapport, provide clear instructions, and offer guidance in a compassionate manner.
- Knowledge of common age-related health conditions and their implications for exercise, such as osteoporosis, arthritis, and cardiovascular issues.
- Ability to modify exercises and routines to accommodate individual mobility and health constraints.
- Empathetic approach with a genuine passion for improving the lives of geriatric clients through fitness and wellness.
