ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Laudisi Enterprises — the parent company of Smokingpipes.com, Laudisi Distribution Group, Cornell & Diehl, Peterson of Dublin, and Low Country Pipe & Cigar — is searching for a creative and determined Brand Photographer to support our growing in-house Marketing department. In this role, the perfect candidate will quickly develop a strong understanding of our myriad brands and be able to hit the ground running, helping the team meet daily deadlines, troubleshooting technical issues, and suggesting improvements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Brand Photographer at Laudisi Enterprises, you will work alongside others on our Creative team to produce engaging photographs and on-brand compositions for use in a variety of marketing materials, including images for email campaigns, blog posts, social media content, web advertisements, and more. Among other tasks, your day-to-day responsibilities will include setting up and optimizing studio lighting; creatively composing your shots to tell a story using only our products and on-brand props; troubleshooting technical camera- or lighting-related issues; editing and preparing files in Lightroom to pass to Design; occasionally taking staff portraits and photographing events; contributing to monthly editorial calendar planning; and researching emerging trends and best practices within the commercial photography and social media spheres.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong portfolio of engaging and well-executed photography
- Demonstrated proficiency with DSLR cameras and studio lighting equipment
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Superlative understanding of the exposure triangle and other photography heuristics
- Ability to quickly adapt to various lighting conditions
- Strong capacity for problem solving and critical thinking
- Exceptional communication, both verbally and in writing
- Willingness to receive feedback and criticism
- Prior experience with pipes or cigars, either professionally or personally.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree, liberal arts preferred.
- Be curious, open-minded, and a life-long learner
- Possess a general interest or experience in marketing
- Be punctual, reliable, and flexible
- Work autonomously with little direction
- Think critically and make decisions with intellectual rigor
- Have a valid Driver’s License
- Pass a criminal background check
BONUS SKILLS:
While not strictly required, previous experience in commercial product photography would be advantageous, as would experience in social media marketing and videography.
