The Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Systems Integration Branch (B54) is seeking engineers to support Navy E3 Systems Integration and system characterization. This position is organizationally located in the Electromagnetic Effects Division (B50) of the Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department (B) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The individual will provide E3 systems engineering analysis and test integration support to U.S. Navy sponsors/fleet.

The applicant will work closely with scientists and engineers within B54, NSWCDD and Integrated Product Team (IPT) members from across the US Navy enterprise to provide E3 support throughout the total life-cycle of U.S. Navy systems and ships, from pre-acquisition through sustainment. The primary duties will include provision of up-front EMC engineering during system development, Radio Frequency (RF) characterization of existing or new Navy sensors, conduct of high fidelity E3 analysis to assess/quantify EMI risks, travel to shipboard and land-based sites and develop test plans, reports and custom EMI fixes or test setups. This will include collaboration and independent work assignments on one or more projects or tasks concurrently. B54 recognizes that a singular individual may not have all desired competencies or skills, however, seeking highly motivated persons with sufficient background and technical abilities to fill this position.

Qualifications and Competencies Required:
 
1.    Ability to provide systems engineering/guidance and requirements traceability
2.    Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret test data and test environments to ensure valid data is generated to enable engineering decisions.
3.    Ability to implement system engineering processes and policies across integrated product teams.
4.    Ability to prepare system specifications, operational requirements and functional description documents.
5.    Ability to work independently or as a member/leader of a multi-organizational team.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with strong technical report writing skills.
