Postdoc, Multi-omics and Translational Genomics for Autoimmune Rheumatic Disorders

Dr. Criswell’s group is focused on the genomics and epidemiology of human autoimmune rheumatic diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren’s disease, in multi-ethnic populations. Our current research efforts include the integration and analysis of multiple omics technologies/data including next-generation sequencing, methylomics, chromatin accessibility, transcriptomics, metabolomics, and exposomics. Research in the Criswell lab involves dry lab components only, giving postdocs the opportunity to hone computational and bioinformatics skills. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop and apply bioinformatic and computational approaches specifically to integrate multiple omics data types to elucidate the biology and underlying heterogeneity of autoimmune disorders.

Qualifications
Candidates should have or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, computer science, epidemiology, or a closely related field. Programming skills and experience in the application of computational methods to genomic data are required. Candidates with a background in single cell analyses are particularly encouraged to apply. The ability to learn how to use new software and quickly become expert in its use, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work semi-independently are required. Applicants must possess good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English. It is important that the successful candidate be able to present data and ideas through lab meetings, seminars, conferences, and written publications.
