Outdoor School Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Coordinator

Oregon State University Division of Extension and Engagement invites applications for an Outdoor School Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position based in Corvallis, OR
 
About the Position:
The Outdoor School program resides within the OSU Extension Service and advances the Extension Service’s vision, mission, and goals through the statewide engagement of school districts and Education Service Districts in outdoor school. The long-term goal of the Outdoor School program is to integrate placed-based programs into the Oregon school system that build upon youth’s skills in hands-on science and their abilities to be effective stewards and leaders in their community. Outdoor school is intended for all 5th or 6th graders in the state of Oregon. The OSU Extension Service Outdoor School program manages the distribution of public funding for outdoor school, evaluates and reports on outdoor school, provides support for outreach and inclusion efforts, and offers professional development and other support. OSU Outdoor School program website: http://outdoorschool.oregonstate.edu.

The Outdoor School Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all evaluation and research programs related to the statewide Outdoor School program. As a member of the Outdoor School team, the Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Coordinator will work with Corvallis-based and statewide team members to develop and execute a comprehensive research and evaluation plan. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the development of a biennial Outdoor School report and will participate in scholarly research and publication to share knowledge within and outside the university. The Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Coordinator will report to the Director of Outdoor School Program (Program Director) and will work closely with the Outdoor School team. This person will contribute to the Outdoor School program’s mission to serve all students from all backgrounds.
