Cyber Security Engineer

Position Summary:
 
The Cyber Security Engineer will work closely with the Network Engineering team and within the Information Systems department to oversee continuous development of network communication and security architecture, assess and resolve potential issues affecting various internal systems, manage network and performance monitoring tools, and report to the Director, Information Systems.
 
Critical responsibilities:
 
  • Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Guides the information security change management, incident response, and remediation policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and maintains regular internal security audits and relevant action plans and items.
  • Implements and performs vulnerability scanning to analyze threat intelligence sources and mitigate potential breaches.
  • Works with vendors and stakeholders to facilitate effective security specific implementations and permissions.
  • Creates and updates cybersecurity awareness training materials and security analysis reports.
  • Designs, implements, and monitors network security infrastructure including testing and prioritizing vulnerability patch management.
  • Creates and updates security related policies, procedures & guidelines utilizing industry frameworks such as ISO, SOX, HIPAA, PCI, etc.
  • Keeps up to date with regulatory changes and security vulnerabilities affecting the technology space.
 
Qualifications of a strong candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years working in IT/IS/Network Engineering/Cyber Security field.
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM, or SSCP certification preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of network and server hardware and operating systems.
  • Experienced in networking, change management, and security principles.
  • Highly skilled in interpersonal relationships and customer service, assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands, working under pressure and managing time.
