An opportunity exists for an ambitious Staff Accountant II in our Allentown, PA location.
What will you do?
- Perform monthly financial close activities including prepare journal entries, update and maintenance of the General Ledger
- Evaluate journal entries for completeness and accuracy
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, including general ledger accounts and sub ledger accounts
- Perform variance analysis for current-to-prior month/quarter/year fluctuations, research and correct account discrepancies
- Drive continuous improvement and uses systems to increase controls and efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with Thermo Fisher Policies and Procedures
- Participation and utilization of PPI methodology
- Perform special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by management
How will you get here?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Requires 2+ years of related experience
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Highly motivated and meticulous individual with excellent communication, computer and organizational skills
- Consistent track record of accurate and timely financial accounting
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and follow through in a fast-paced, multitask environment
- Experience with SAP and Blackline is a plus
