Solar Sales/Marketing Representative (Dallas, Texas)

Job Description

NuLux Ventures is a 5-star solar brokerage headquartered in Dallas, Texas. This is a promising start-up in the alternative clean-energy space. For its customers, NuLux Ventures provides an all-in-one solar and battery consultation service. The majority of NuLux Venture’s new customers come through our sales reps who go directly to people's homes all over the country to walk consumers through the technology and tailor a system to each home.

The purpose of this job is to build leaders. We will teach you the soft skills that are in such high demand in today's tightening job market such as: leadership, communication, sales professionals, and self-management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

You will be working directly with customers in their homes. Your job will consist of working with existing NuLux Ventures’s customers to upgrade their older solar systems with new equipment as well as signing up new customers to our platform with new solar panels or batteries. You will be meeting a lot of new people and working with a combination of existing customers, referrals/leads, and cold contacts.

TRAINING

Before the summer, you will complete a training series online to learn and understand techniques for helping existing customers and signing up new ones. You will also have the opportunity to go on one of several training trips out of state over a weekend during the semester and do some on-the-job shadowing locally.

During the summer, you will take part in daily training meetings covering a broad range of topics including business principles, verbal and meta-verbal communication, leadership, financial management, and the trends of the booming solar industry. You will also have several coaching sessions for career goals, self-management, and leadership development.

HOUSING

NuLux Ventures will manage the housing for the summer. NuLux Ventures has offices in the Southern California area, so the entire team will stay in the same apartment complex and you will have a roommate. If you apply together with a friend and are both hired, then you will be roommates for the summer. Travel costs to get to your assigned summer office will be covered and you will have the opportunity to also earn free rent as part of the internship.

SCHEDULE/LIFESTYLE

This is a full summer internship. If you have other obligations that will not allow you to dedicate at least a full 2 months to this internship, it won't work. Hiring preference will be given to those students that can do the full summer. You will be working mostly in the afternoons and evenings with the mornings off for about 40 hours a week. Outside of work, we will also do a lot of things together as a team, including playing sports, team dinners, movie nights, pool days, beach/lake, theme parks, paintball, barbecues, etc. Work hard, play hard.

COMPENSATION

Students start out making $25,000 their first summer, on average. You will have the opportunity to earn additional bonuses based on performance as well. Students who do this program for 2-3 summers and get into leadership positions can make as much as $100,000 in a summer. One of our main goals in this program is to provide an opportunity to work hard during the summer so you can focus on your education during the school year without the stress of student loans or part-time jobs.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Top performers have the option to return for another summer and take a leadership role. After graduation, students who have had leadership roles will have the opportunity to manage teams and offices around the country depending on availability. Full-time manager and area director positions pay $200,000+ per year.

This is a competitive job. If you have experience in team sports or other competitive roles you will thrive. You will have the opportunity to compete in competitions with other teams and reps in the company and the opportunity to earn incentives based on your own improvement and performance.
