Science Teacher-Summer Camp
Camp Skylemar, is in search of college students or recent graduates to teach science activities this summer. Our mission is to make a positive impact in the world, one child at a time. At Skylemar, you’ll have the opportunity to be a creative leader while teaching and mentoring kids. Working at Skylemar is the experience of a lifetime. Our outdoor based science program consists of 40 minute hands-on experiments and activities. Experiments include things like making “volcano’s”, slime, solar oven, solar balloons, watermelon burst, mentos fountain, pond scopes, balloon helicopters, ice cream, rock candy & bubble gum, etc. Topics can also include campcraft or ecology programs. We will provide plenty of guidance on curriculum, but the teacher will run his or her own program. We value new ideas and suggestions, and seek someone who is able to work independently within a friendly, helpful community.
Camp Skylemar is a well-established (since 1948) recreational summer camp, located in southern Maine. The state of Maine, is more than a destination – it’s an experience that will take your breath away. In summer, there’s no better place to be than in Maine. From the beaches to the mountains, there’s so much to explore, and enjoy during your free time.
Compensation packages start at $3,000.00. In addition to your salary, we cover housing, meals and full round-trip transportation expenses. WIFI, staff shirts and a laundry service are also provided. Camp season runs from June 11 to August 6. Ability to take a college class online while you’re here. We also provide free time to workout.
Internship credit is available. Most educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. Check with your institution to be sure this opportunity meets any requirements.
