Business Development Internship

EXL Health is hiring Business Development Intern
 
The Business Development Intern’s primary responsibility will be Prospect Research for the Healthcare New Logo team. The Analyst creates concise, accurate, and timely research profiles using biographical information, financial data, news, professional connections etc. The New Logo Team will provide direction on priorities, sequence of Prospects to focus on. In addition, there will be some market research from time to time on competitors that are engaged with our prospects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Supporting the research needs of the Healthcare New Logo Team including:
  • Utilizing available Databases to find contacts and business information
  • Additional tools are currently under development that will be released within SFDC that will also be used for research, including but not limited to: ZoomInfo, XIQ insights etc.
  • Using data mining and other prospecting techniques to identify key information on Prospects
  • Analyzing research requests to determine appropriate level of detail required.
  • Identifying appropriate resources needed for completion of requests.
  • Creating concise, accurate, and timely research products using biographical information, financial data, news, and professional connections, while adhering to professional standards such as an individual's fundamental right to privacy and protecting the confidential information of EXL Health.
  • Maintaining an expectation of excellence in both written and verbal communication, as well as a dedication to superior service
  • Tracking and disseminating news and information about key prospects.
  • Staying abreast of trends in prospect research, online searching, and participating in professional development opportunities; will have the opportunity to develop analytic skills.
  • Continuously developing healthcare domain knowledge and professional skills through internal/external trainings, and research webinars.
  • Create and maintain database of contacts for outreach
  • Work with sales for lead conversion via outreach and brand promotion activities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Reports to the Supervisor – Growth Office as well as takes direction from the Healthcare New Logo Team members. Has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This position will seek major decision-making authority from direct supervisors. However, independent work on day-to-day tasks and good judgment is required for dealing with prospects, EXL staff, and confidential information.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • 0-2 years of experience working as a Research Analyst (or similar role) with experience in healthcare sales operations
  • Prior Healthcare, prefer Payer domain experience, analytics, digital tools a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and the ability to bridge gaps in understanding, and moving the team towards a common delivery
  • Experience in current technology, databases, understanding relational databases and data structures within healthcare setting
  • Ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to present ideas in a concise and clear manner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team; superior communication, organizational, project management, writing, and analytical skills; ability to manage multiple research assignments and to meet deadlines. The Healthcare new logo team works in a fast-paced environment providing a quick turnaround on some assignments.
 
The Analyst must apply creative thinking about possible trails to follow for prospect information. Must be curious, focused, and persistent in pursuing threads of information, and should be capable of interpreting complex documents, including corporate proxy statements and Annual reports. Also essential are high level writing skills, as the reports and briefings prepared in Prospect Research are used by members of the Growth Office. The Analyst must also be able identify and adapt to shifting priorities, be flexible and resourceful, and exercise professionalism and discretion in working with confidential information.
 
Technical Skills:
  • Superior skills in Microsoft applications
  • Familiarity with Internet search strategies and online subscription services such as LinkedIn, Twitter etc.
