Global Advocacy Intern

OB SUMMARY:
Novocure’s Global Advocacy department, located in New York City, NY is offering a paid student internship during summer of 2023. The internship program will provide the student with relevant skills in a variety of Global Advocacy functions via on-the-job training.
This Global Advocacy Intern is a temporary, non-exempt paid position, reporting to the Senior Manager, Advocacy.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Mesothelioma Awareness initiative: Research potential sites for campaign participation across the US; manage all sites participating, logistics and vendor engagement; develop any external communications content
  • Ovarian Cancer awareness initiative: Support planning from brainstorm to preparedness; develop internal awareness strategy implementation and communciations to maximize engagement; create shareable content (e.g., social media posts, internal/external articles); manage design-vendor relationship
  • Ongoing support of external partner programs; synthesize learnings for internal communication
  • Support two quarterly internal cross-functional focus groups
  • Caregiver awareness initiative: Align internal partners with external partner activity; Spreadsheet development and management; Communication with external partners around advocacy requests
  • Cross functional meeting participation regarding on-going projects
  • Participate in internal trainings and audits in accordance with the established requirements
 
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment
  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Students need to have a 3.0 or higher to apply  
  • Rising Senior & final year MBA candidates preferred
  • Must be able to commit to 30-40 hours a week
  • All interns are expected to present a final presentation to all respective managers, business leaders, and HR in August on the work they did and their experience
  • Pursuing degree/study in public health, nursing or related field
  • Experienced in terms of corporate environment, professionalism, accountability
  • Preferred:
  • Previous experience in similar position in medical device, pharmaceutical or patient-facing field
  • Interest or opportunity to continue supporting role after summer months
OTHER:
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Participate in the Intern Program with other interns; bi weekly lunch & learns, coffee chats, & final presentations
