About the Role
CrowdStrike Falcon Host is a two-component security product. One component is a “sensor”, which is a driver installed on client machines that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon Host cloud. The cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer’s network and correlates malicious behavior across multiple machines and presents our customers’ operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.

Our sensor development team is responsible for building the endpoint sensor which deploys on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, and Linux. Developers are expected to own the design and development of core features on the platform. Features will cross cut most core OS subsystems such as file system, memory and process, and networking. Interns on this team will:
  • Learn about the sensor development team involved in architecture, strategy, in building and improving next-generation Anti-Virus and Enhanced Detection and Response Security Software
  • Support development teams in designing and building software with cross-platform deliverables (Windows, Mac, Linux).
  • Assist in design to delivery including participation in product demo at the end of the sprint
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams in various locations

What You’ll Need..
  • Currently enrolled at a four university, currently working towards a CS/Engineering degree, graduating between December 2023- August 2024
  • An eagerness to learn through hands-on experience and collaborative projects specific to your internship field.
  • Understanding in at least one operating system
  • Can think about and write high quality code and can demonstrate that capability, be it through job experience, schoolwork, or contributions to community projects
  • Experience developing in C++ , Windows OS Kernel and Driver Development

Bonus Points:
  • Exposure to low-level OS internals in Windows a plus
  • Experience/project-work in kernel development on any of the platforms, with an interest in growing skills in other platforms.
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile process
  • Experience debugging memory corruptions, process contentions and system performance
