Climate Justice Program Fellow

POSITION SUMMARY 
The Climate Justice Program Fellow supports ecoAmerica’s work to engage and activate America’s faith denominations climate action, advocacy and collective action through our Blessed Tomorrow program, driving initiatives that center equity and climate justice. The Program Fellow reports to the Director of Blessed Tomorrow and works collaboratively with other staff members to support leaders and partners in an efficient and effective manner. The Program Fellow will be a person of faith with subject matter knowledge, an interest in working with multiple faith traditions to empower their leadership and action on climate justice, and strong communications skills. The position will start at 20 hours per week at $20/hour and last until December 31st, 2023.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support digital communications for Blessed Tomorrow Program in the work to inspire and empower partners for climate leadership, action and advocacy.
●     Post and engage on Blessed Tomorrow social media platforms and online communities in collaboration with management and marketing teams.
●     Support the production of monthly newsletters and website content updates with content sourced from the program and partners.
●     Draft, proof, and post regular blog posts (from ecoAmerica and our partners) in collaboration with the Director, Blessed Tomorrow.

Support a new national campaign to drive collective impact and climate action and advocacy at clergy and congregational levels.
●     Support tracking of participation and logistics of the national campaign.
●     Collaborate internally to develop and share resources and communications strategies that expand the campaign generally and to deepen climate equity/justice aspects.
Support Blessed Tomorrow Program activities and offerings, including expanding climate justice content in trainings, webinars, resource development, and programming.
●     Support the rollout of state-based climate resources by conducting desk research and building out presentations for 6-8 states, following an existing template.
●     Work with Director to develop and support implementation of new program offerings, including training elements, webinar content, resources, and engagement programs to help our national partners to engage vulnerable and historically marginalized communities in climate justice.

General organizational responsibilities
●     Perform other program support activities at the request of the Director.
●     Participate as a professional and positive member of the organization by contributing to activities that support ecoAmerica’s overall mission and success.
●     Participate in staff and other organizational meetings to review progress and deliverables, share knowledge, and to collaborate on ecoAmerica activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED
●     College degree required.
●     Active person of faith who understands faith traditions, climate/sustainability, and has a passion for making progress at the intersection of the two.
●     Excellent verbal and written communications. Visual communications a plus. Spanish fluency a plus.
●     Strong skills across platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, social media, and content management systems (tech savvy and/or quick to learn).
●     Organized and detail-oriented.
●     Works well with others
●     Commitment to climate and justice solutions and ecoAmerica’s mission.
 
ADA SPECIFICATIONS
This position is largely sedentary in nature however one must possess the ability to speak, hear, and write as well as the ability to use a computer and related software programs, and lift up to 20 lbs. Local and/or national travel periodically required.
