Matrix Providers is hiring an Audiologist to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families at Fort Carson, in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly at a rate of $45.67/h.
  • Schedule:  Monday through Friday, between 0700 – 1700 hours. Normal (typical) duty hours will be between 0730-1600 Monday – Friday.

The Audiologist must have and meet the following:
  • Degree/Education: Doctorate in Audiology, either an Au.D. or Ph.D.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience: HCW shall have a minimum of one year in clinical practice within the past three years in audiology.
  • Board Certification: Must hold a current CCC-A certification status with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), American Board of Audiology certification, or Fellowship Status with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).
  • Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an audiologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guan, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.
Job Summary:
  • HCW is responsible for comprehensive audiometric testing providing independent, quality, diagnostic, Audiology services for patients of the MEDDAC from local installations, including the Air Force and outlying clinics from Pueblo and Denver, Colorado, and reserve and national guard units from Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.
  • The employee works with a wide variety of hearing disorders in adult and geriatric patients.
  • Auditory brainstem and otoacoustic emission testing are used to assist in locating the site of lesions within the auditory system. Uses state-of-the-art technology to evaluate patients with inconsistent or conflicting test results (non-organic). Vestibular testing for adult patients.
  • Ensures that patients with multi-handicapping conditions and hearing loss receive appropriate coordinated care.
  • Makes clinical disposition of patients to include referral to appropriate medical personnel and determination of physical profile status and fitness for initial and/or continued duty in various military occupations.
  • Formulate ongoing aural rehabilitation plans, including hearing aid and/or FM fittings, checks, and adjustments using government-contracted products from multiple, international manufacturers.
  • Design training plans and develop techniques to help the impaired better utilize remaining communication resources, employing system accessories as required to enhance daily function.
  • Coordinates with physicians, military commanders, and civilian supervisors at all levels in reference to duty limitations, job reclassification, fitness for duty, and compassionate reassignments warranted by a hearing loss of the service member.
  • Works closely with early hearing detection and intervention programs and the Exceptional Family Member Program.
  • Responsible to ensure those patients needing further evaluation by otolaryngology receive referral and guidance. 
  • Provides all audiological services independently.
