Events Coordinator and Planner
Mission
DC Strings Workshop connects to music through the presentation of concerts, recitals, and educational opportunities throughout the DC metropolitan area, particularly in underserved communities. Our team is excited to expand to the Miami area and build a community and relationship with other non-profits and the general public.
Our mission is to share our love of classical and contemporary orchestra and chamber music with the community. We take pride in presenting meaningful and challenging orchestral works that rival the programming of large professional orchestras. DC Strings Workshop works to build community and expand horizons by engaging diverse audiences, supplying instruments to deserving students, and working to expose students and adults alike to the music of women and underrepresented people of color. The Role:
We're seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Events Coordinator Intern to join our team and help us book fun, unique, community-centered events! As an intern, you'll be able to work with experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in event planning, coordination, booking, team leadership, and execution.
The Goal:
The right candidate will help our outreach team be everywhere! partnering up with festivals, concerts, sporting events, conferences, in-store promotions, wedding venues, etc etc
Requirements:
- Source and secure venues and vendors, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed.
- Create event proposals, including detailed budgets and timelines, and present them to clients for approval.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and ensure their satisfaction throughout the event planning process.
