Creative Project Assistant, HECC, PHACS
Position: Part-Time (10-14 Hours/week) - $30.00 per hour
Position may be fully remote or a hybrid of remote and on-site. Local to Boston, MA or surrounding area preferred. Must reside in one of the states approved by Harvard for part-time, non-benefits-eligible employment.**

JOB SUMMARY 
The Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS) network conducts several longitudinal cohort studies investigating the long-term effects of HIV infection and ARV (antiretroviral) medications in infants, children, adolescents and young adults who were born with HIV or born exposed to HIV. Four support Cores based at the HSPH Department of Epidemiology provide vital support to the Research Projects of the PHACS Network. One of these is the PHACS Health Education and Community Core (HECC), an interdisciplinary committee of community members, researchers, and staff. The HEC Core's mission is to expand and formalize the meaningful involvement of PHACS' participants and community group members at all stages of the research process; to create a broad suite of novel multimedia approaches to communicating PHACS' scientific findings to participants and the public; to oversee all media relations for PHACS; and to support the study-specific communication needs of the main Research Projects and 21 clinical research sites.

JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

·      Assist with the development/completion of various graphic design projects
-       Draw images for handouts, website, various network materials 
-       Develop design templates for network materials (PowerPoint, Word, etc.) 
-       Create images for participant resources (recruitment handouts, community newsletter, etc.)

·      Assist with the development of various audio/visual projects (short videos, tutorials, animations, etc.) 
-       Assist with day-of video production, which can include set-up, break down, post-production organization, etc. (on-site if local)  
-       Complete preliminary video edits of projects, including animations (required skill) 

·      Assist with ad-hoc in-network design requests
-       Adjust network documents with up-to-date member roster, accurate study information, etc. 
-       Adjust poster designs based on specific conference size/format regulations 

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years’ experience in a creative field required 
·       Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) 
·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
·       Proficient in basic animation design and execution 
·       Proficient in basic design principles and techniques
·       Interest in working with HIV research, individuals living with HIV, and/or individuals living with stigmatized conditions

Additional/Bonus Skills:
·       Experience working with various audio/visual equipment preferred (DSLRS, Tascam recorders, etc.) 
·       Community engagement experience and/or comfort working with people in a variety of roles and from different backgrounds
·       Willing to adjust to meet the needs of multiple audiences
·       Web design development 
·       Digital video production 
·       Proficiency in Spanish 
·       Experience in HIV communication  

Applicants will need to use their own computer to complete duties. They will be provided access to Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 360, and all software required to complete duties.
