Hospitality/Event Planning (Operations/Programming Position at Residential Summer Camp)

Position:
The Operations Team at Camp Wicosuta consists of an Operations Coordinator and an Operations Assistant. The Operations Coordinator works closely with camp administration, the program team, trips & transportation team, office staff and the entire camp community. The operations team plays a major role in not only ensuring the set up and preparation of Camp Wicosuta prior to campers and staff arriving on site, but also ensuring the effective performance of day-to-day camp functioning during the camp season.  The Operations Coordinator is a member of the Wicosuta Leadership Team and manages the Operations Department as well as helps to oversee some of our non-bunk staff. The areas of camp in which the Operations Team is directly responsible for including but are not limited to hospitality, facilities and equipment, purchasing, technology, and staff recreation. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Execute in planning and preparation of camp season prior to arrival of staff and campers
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are in working order for staff and campers
  • Complete purchasing for supplies/equipment needed during duration of camp season
  • Assist with camper and staff programming during pre-camp and throughout camp season
  • Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment
  • Assist with seasonal camp vehicles
 
Other Job Duties:
  • ­Be familiar with and support the successful execution of all camp policies and procedures, including safety and emergency plans
  • Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading those as assigned.
  • ­Participate as a member of the Camp Wicosuta team to help deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
 
Qualifications (Minimum qualifications and experience)
  • ­ Currently pursuing undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience required 
  • ­ The physical ability to regularly lift to 50 lbs. to set up/move equipment as needed
  • ­ Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and strong work ethic
  • ­ Ability to work collaboratively 
  • ­ Desire and ability to work in a setting surrounded by children outdoors
