Public Affairs Specialist
Supports a diverse range of public affairs functional areas to build strategic relationships with Agency overseers, stakeholders, partners, and customers. Officers will plan engagement strategies and execute public affairs, congressional, and outreach activities in support of Agency strategic goals. They develop Agency strategic communication, oversee and facilitate employee communications programs, and analyze Agency needs to communicate and advocate for DIA priorities.
  • Degree in public relations, marketing, social sciences, communications from an accredited institution or minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and application of writing processes, principles and techniques in research, storytelling, speech writing and strategic messaging to draft original content and create custom products for a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, story construction, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ability to formulate ideas and multi-task on multiple fronts – engage with customers, troubleshoot issues, share expertise, and assist peers.
  • Skill to develop long- and short-term strategies and organize events that advance communication objectives; may include a range of tasks related to, speech writing, logistics and message content.
