Summer Camp Leadership and Administration

Do you know or want to learn how to keep a summer camp running smoothly? Are you organized, detail-oriented, and love making people smile? Do you have a love for creating systems and fixing Excel formulas? Then we want you! We're on the hunt for an Master of Operations to join our team for the summer. As the MOP, you'll be the wizard behind the curtain, making sure all of the camp's operational tasks get done like magic.

Camp Operations Manager - Camp Augusta Summer 2023
As Operations Manager of a summer camp with 100 campers and 75 staff, I was in charge of managing camp resources, programming supplies, vehicles and staff schedules. I kept track of multiple activity areas, assigned maintenance tasks to staff members and ensured the ongoing development of programming.

Minimum requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years of age by June 1st, 2023
  • Must be available during our summer dates: from May 16th to August 12th 2023

A Day in the Life of an Operations Manager at Augusta typically includes

  • Organizing staff schedules, working with multiple Excel sheets
  • Keeping track of camp supply inventories, maintaining activity areas.
  • Improving programming and equipment
  • Teaching at least two activity blocks per day, and finding joy in the variety and the opportunity to impart knowledge and facilitate fun
  • Playing in Evening Programs; bringing enthusiasm to character roles in games, including skits and stations; excitedly participating in campfires with songs, skits, or both

  • Love community, and the idea of supporting the growth, interests, and emotional well-being of the other counselors and staff within your village, as well as the camp-wide community, is exciting to you
