Clinical Specialist

Cognition Builders is an educational company that provides curricula-based instruction to individuals and families to address behavioral, emotional, social, academic, intellectual, and pragmatic needs.

Family Architects/Cognitive Companions work in the home and other natural environments of our clients to identify current barriers within the family unit. We address clients’ behavioral, pragmatic, academic, social, and functional needs. Family Architects/Cognitive Companions are immersed into the lives of our clients so that we can identify what’s going awry and subsequently provide real-time, beat-for-beat instruction to correct the problematic behaviors and unconstructive conversations as they transpire.

Responsibilities of the Family Architect/Cognitive Companion roles include, but are not limited to:

-       Implementing behavioral and language change techniques

-       Providing support, feedback, and training to families

-       Implementing Cognition Builders’ award-winning curricula to teach skills through to mastery

-       Completing detailed daily notes and other documentation requirements

-       Communicating effectively and thoroughly with the treatment team and client

 

Qualifications

 

-       Minimum of a master’s degree in the social sciences or related

fields, including, but not limited to: Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Psychology,

Social Work, Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, etc.

-       Experience with a wide variety of behavior targets

-       Assertive, flexible, confident, professional

-       Exceptional written and verbal communication

-       Ability to work independently and be proactive

-       Trained in Crisis Prevention and Intervention Strategies (certification preferred)
