Trend & Affordability Analyst - WORK AT HOME - Evernorth

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role Summary:

The TMC analyst will closely interface with Local market teams, National, and regional counterparts, Competitive Insights, and National US Medical Trends and Insights Team, to understand emerging trends, validate opportunities and share best practices. 

Analyst synthesizes local strategies and National recommendations to help key matrix partners strategize, prioritize, and work to close affordability gaps and drive profitable growth. 

Directs/performs deep dive analyses of the trend drivers and functional areas to support regional/ National strategy development. Continuously reviews reporting from different segments of Medical Economics, makes recommendations on package for local market affordability review and Health Care Trend Analytics tool enhancements.

Determine best practices and data sources to drive efficiency and consistency. 

This position is the subject matter expert that consults across all the markets on a specific functional area, along with local market support, driving savings opportunities. 

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Duties and Responsibilities
    * Consolidate local market and specific Functional area affordability strategies within the market to clearly articulate key actions
    * Understand the local market needs for reporting and make recommendations for future reporting enhancements
    * Attend local Total Medical Cost meetings to identify hotspots and interventional opportunities
    * Maintain relationships with National US Trends and Affordability team, Cigna Collaborative Care, SIU, Risk Analytics team, and National Contracting to ensure effective communication of trend outliers, developing corrective action/ activities/asks avoiding duplication of efforts
    * Support Ad-Hoc analytics as needed to understand affordability drivers
    * National SME on specific Functional area and the first point of contact for the national team should questions on Functional supported area arise
    * Influence key matrix partners to ensure goals and targets are met
    * Drive change initiatives to address developing business needs. Act as a catalyst to spark enthusiasm, collaboration and results

Qualifications:
    * 5+ years of medical and financial experience in healthcare
    * Significant experience in driving medical cost and affordability saving strategies
    * Strong technical skills such as SQL, SAS EG, and TOAD
    * Previous work experience applying a combination of analytical, technical and business acumen
    * Experience working successfully in a matrix environment
    * Change leader who is proactive in assisting in positive growth for the future
    * Extensive knowledge of both the PPO and managed care environments, including product offerings, competitor offerings and healthcare provider value based reimbursement programs
    * Demonstrated ability to influence, persuade, and collaborate with audiences at various levels of experience and responsibility
    * Acts decisively, takes charge, and initiates action and is focused on achieving business results

This position will support the West Coast region and must be flexible with occasionally attending meetings in the Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST).

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 94,300 - 157,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
