Metro College Intern Program - Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD)

Hello and greetings from Metro Transit Police Department. 🙂

MTPD is excited to welcome summer 2023 interns to our bureaus that serve the public and offer many avenues to experiential learning.

Interns for MTPD will assist staff, administratively and operationally, in carrying out the ultimate mission of the department: to protect and serve the community.

The Bureau of Community Engagement will oversee intern work, though interns will have the opportunity to perform tasks around MTPD, including with crime strategy and investigation, computer science and data analysis, forensics, and community policing and crisis intervention

Those with criminal justice-related educational and career paths will surely learn and benefit, with the option to pursue later professional entry into MTPD. Interns are compensated, based on year in school, for their work on a range of $20-25/hour.

We seek four (4) summer interns who are growth-minded and service-focused individuals to help our staff execute daily operations of MTPD -- so please apply as soon as able (*by 2/18) and share with those who may be interested. Should you have any questions about the program, please contact Community Services Bureau Director Ms. Shandha Louis at SELouis@wmata.com.
