HR Benefits Intern

SupplyHouse.com, a fast-growing and innovative e-commerce company, is looking for a Human Resources Benefits Intern to work with us virtually this summer! This individual will gain hands-on experience and be exposed to the daily functions of our Benefits & Compliance Team.

This is a remote-based role within select states in the United States. At this time, we are only able to employ those located in the following states: Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

This position may require travel to our NY office headquarters up to two times during the program for internal meetings and team-building activities. The cost of travel for employees out of the area will be covered by the company. Additionally, our offices are always available for staff to use as much as desired.

Location: Remote (Florida, Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington)
Length of Program: June – August
Salary: $20.00/hour
Schedule: Standard business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST. However, there is some flexibility as per our Flex-Time Policy.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Benefits Team Lead as well as our Benefits team members to support day-to-day tasks as well as team projects and initiatives
  • Assist with benefit related tasks including analyzing team member benefit inquiries, preparing vendor invoices for payment, and creating/updating benefits guides and training materials
  • Research, develop, and suggest areas of improvement of our current benefit programs and initiatives utilizing market research and benchmarking data
  • Assist with compliance related tasks including the research and development of employee policies, procedures, and trainings, including the Employee Handbook
  • Attend all weekly internal and external team meetings including Benefit & Compliance team meetings, insurance brokers check-ins, and one-on-one meetings with the Benefits Team Lead
  • Assist with creating write-ups and how-to guides for current policies and procedures
  • Scan, organize, and file confidential Human Resources documents and other administrative duties as needed
  • Assist with special projects for Benefits, Compliance, and Payroll as needed

Requirements:
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Pleasant and personable demeanor
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Trustworthy with sensitive and confidential information
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
