Human Resources Intern (Summer)
McLane offers a summer 2023 10-week paid Internship program that will provide you with tangible and involved problem-solving situations from the start, hands-on experience, and opportunities to exchange ideas with industry leaders.
JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The role will work with Human Resources (HR) professionals to perform duties that will provide the opportunity for cross-functional training in all aspects of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work with HR professionals to support various aspects of Human Resources (compensation, benefits, labor relations,
- Interns will be assigned a group project and a mentor to help provide coaching & support throughout the assignment. The project in the area of People Analytics and results will be presented in the final week to various leaders within the organization. The goal is to research and present a solution or recommendation based on white space within the company. This will give interns an opportunity to work with cross-functional departments and individuals across our multiple locations to put together a solution to create a positive change.
- Prepare project reports, progress summaries, statistical analysis, and related data.
- Support Human Resources Manager, as needed.
- Analyze specific aspects of department functions and/or operational procedures.
- Utilize the network, department specific software, and proprietary software to complete assignments.
- Other duties may be assigned. Duties may vary depending on assigned department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Human Resources, Communication, and Business Majors currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program.
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office environment
- Temporary housing will be provided.
- Some travel required.
