Mental Health Skill-Building Services Clinician (MHSS)

Position Description: The Mental Health Rehabilitation Provider is responsible for the implementation of Step VA Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services within the agency to support individuals with SMI, SUD, and SED in developing or regaining independent living skills. Provides deliberate and consistent side by side skills training which typically includes staff demonstration, client practice/role-plays, and staff feedback, as well as ongoing prompting and cueing for learned skills in more natural settings. Staff should develop and demonstrate supportive, therapeutic relationships while implementing interventions in skills development, educational, and prevocational activities.
Qualifications: Associates degree or higher in human services field or related field preferred with at least 3 years of experience working in human services field with SMI, SUD, or SED population required. Prior experience assisting families/individuals to obtain appropriate services and supports is desirable. Must possess a valid VA driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record according to RACS policies. High school diploma or equivalent required.
