Lone Star Sports & Entertainment Intern

Basic Function: Develop operational, leadership and administrative skills while supporting LSSE events and initiatives as well as certain Houston Texans events as directed.   

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate department calendars, meetings, tickets and hospitality distribution and donation requests.
  • Coordinate ordering, tracking and distribution of all LSSE event related gifting and apparel including staff, team and VIP needs.
  • Support communications, advertising, digital marketing (email/website), social marketing and creative production to facilitate the LSSE sales and marketing efforts as directed.
  • Support creative process with Texans staff to distribute advertising collateral to internal and external vendors for ticketing and suite sales and marketing for LSSE events.
  • Oversee and organize LSSE storage management process and provide regular updates to LSSE staff.
  • Lead LSSE Event Day Hospitality including creative, gifting and guest experience elements.
  • Assist grassroots and activation efforts as directed throughout the season to drive lead generation efforts, including game visits which can include traveling outside the Houston metropolitan area as needed, conventions, corporate sponsor events, Houston Texans events and other events as requested by LSSE Director, Operations and Events.
  • Support LSSE event photo management system and distribute visuals following each event in conjunction with LSSE and Texans staff.
  • Assist Houston Texans Events and Houston Texans Foundation personnel in production of all LSSE charity-related event elements.
  • Assist in the execution of all LSSE events. 
  • Coordinate Bowl Week event support as requested.
  • Work with various vendors on a project-by-project basis.
  • Perform various other duties as may be assigned from time to time by General Manager, the LSSE Director, Operations and Events or other LSSE staff including administrative and Houston Texans event support.
  • Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by LSSE Director, Operations and Events.

Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with LSSE and Houston Texans personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

Skills Required: 
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Proficiency in social media and website editing software platforms preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of photo editing software applications preferred.

Education/Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university with a concentration in Marketing or Sports Management preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Experience in sports management and/or and events preferred.
