Position Summary
Assured Guaranty is seeking to hire a Summer Intern to assist a Director in the Company’s Accounting Policy Group with numerous responsibilities, including but not limited to; researching accounting guidance on specific transactions and documenting the Company’s accounting policies and considerations, with an emphasis on the Company’s asset management business.

Primary Responsibilities The primary duties and responsibilities of the job include (but are not limited to):
• Setting up and circulating a deal tracker, which is updated after meeting with the legal team
• Monitoring weekly trades from the business
• Collecting and reading drafts of certain legal documents; summarizing key terms or running comparisons to previously executed deals and identifying substantive differences
• Creating organizational charts to be used for memos
• Assist in controls processes, by gathering and analyzing certain supporting documents and facilitating its review.
• Assist in streamlining the Company’s VIE/VOE template to simplify review process
• Assist in reviewing relevant financial statement disclosures
• Various administrative duties

Candidate Background and Qualifications
• Student currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Very strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and present assignments concisely and accurately.
• Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently (maintaining accountability over the task at hand).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
