Position Summary
The Public Finance team at Assured Guaranty is seeking an intern to join the team this summer. The position of Intern will be assisting in the underwriting process as Public Finance onboards ODIN as an underwriting tool. The Intern will also provide support to the procurement process.

Primary Responsibilities The Intern will assist with the following tasks:
• Collaborate with third-party data vendors to request processing of new business deals received by procurement and input them into underwriting software packages.
• Monitor & analyze information from data vendors.
• Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and modeling to support underwriters .
• Interact with underwriters on flow business deals and prepare deals prior to them being underwritten, managing deal flow and forward calendar.
• Assist the procurement team and process flow business in an efficient and timely manner.
• Support Product Development team to improve business processes to increase team efficiency.

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
• Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg and Powerpoint
• Preferred knowledge of VBA
• Ability to work on a small team and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong willingness to learn new skills
• Basic knowledge of fixed income or capital markets preferred

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Certifications and Experience)
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• While any discipline will be considered, candidates studying finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, information technology, or similar subjects, will be prioritized.
